Obituary of Sharon Nelson

Fayette/Waterloo - Sharon Norman Nelson, 71, of Waterloo, died Friday (January 30, 2015) at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva. In keeping with Sharon's wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be announced in the Spring. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Seneca County 4-H for Programming for Youth Learning to Sew, c/o Nancy Lamberson, 308 Main Street Shop Center, Waterloo, NY, 13165 or American Lung Association of New York State, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY, 12210. Sharon was born April 3, 1943 in Medina, the daughter of Fred and Gertrude Brege Norman. She was a 1961 graduate of Barker High School. Sharon graduated in 1963 from Alfred Ag. & Tech. with her Associates Degree. Completing her associates degree she then studied at Roswell Park for 6 months. She was employed at Medical Associates in Geneva for 35 years, then employed with B . J. 's Wholesale Club in Victor. She also was an inspector with Seneca County Board of Election, since 1966. Sharon was a member of Waterloo United Methodist Church. She was involved in leadership for Seneca County 4-H in 1980 to 2014. Sharon enjoyed sewing and gardening. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles E. Nelson; daughter, Katherine "Katie" Nelson of Waterloo; sister, Anita (Green) Williams of Augusta. GA; and many nieces and nephews.
