Seneca Falls - Robert W. Long, 81, of Seneca Falls, died Friday (October 3, 2014) at his home with his loving family by his side.
Friends may call friend 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 6) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. Military honors will be 7 p.m. Monday (Oct. 6) at the funeral home by members of the Kirk Casey Post 366, American Legion Honor Guard. The memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 7) at Calvary Chapel of Seneca Falls, Rt. 89. Raymond Torrey, pastor of the chapel, will officiate. Burial will be in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Varick, at the convenience of the family.

Robert was born April 1, 1933 in Warsaw, NY, the son of Robert M. and Golda M. Wheeler Long. He was a graduate from Manlius Military Academy. Bob then enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving one enlistment. Returning from the service he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in education from State Teachers College Geneseo and later, graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Master's degree in counseling. He retired with many years of employment from the Seneca Falls School District. He was very active in the Seneca Falls Little League. Bob had many interests, but his passion was his family. He was an active member and past commander of Kirk Casey Post 366, American Legion in Seneca Falls.
He is survived by loving wife of 51 years, Judy W. Long; daughters, Pamela (Daniel) Kane and Martha (Daniel) Dygert both of Seneca Falls; son, Roy (Melissa) Long of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Daniel Kane, Jr., Roy Kane, Libby Kane, Lauren (Frank) Caratozzolo, Matthew (Eleni) Long, Kathryn (Preston) Yoder, Rebecca Dygert, Hannah Dygert, Abby Dygert, Madison Long, and Audrey Long; great-grandchildren, Frankie Caratozzolo and Vinny Caratozzolo; and beloved sister, Nancy (Bert) Vallencourt of Pownal, VT; and special friend, Al Covert of Waterloo.
Bob was predeceased by his niece, Kelly Mullen.
