Obituary of Grace Murray

Waterloo - Grace E. Murray, 85, of 2344 Edwards Rd., died Friday (September 26, 2014) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, with her family by her side. A graveside service at the convenience of the family will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beverly's Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St. Waterloo, NY, 13165. Grace was born March 14, 1929 in Waterloo, the daughter of Herbert E. and Mabel A. Wilson Baxter. She was a 1946 graduate of Waterloo High School. Grace retired after 40 years of employment at the Seneca County Treasurer's Office, retiring as Deputy County Treasurer. She served as the Town of Waterloo Tax Collector for 16 years. Grace was a long time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Order of Eastern Star, Seneca Chapter 78. She was a life member of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion Auxiliary and Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is survived by sons, John A. Murray and Frederick E. (Tina) Murray both of Waterloo; daughter, Colleen (Ronald) Stein of Seneca Falls; seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
