Waterloo - Beulah Jean Long, 84, formerly of 260 Garrett Rd., died Thursday (August 7, 2014) at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday (Aug. 11) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. George Walter, pastor of Finger Lakes Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Finger Lakes Community Church, 5 Sullivan Dr., Seneca Falls, NY, 13148. Jean was born Oct. 20,1929 in Summerhill, the daughter of Ray L. and Rita M. Close Davis. She lived in many places with her military career husband, George, and their eight children, always returning to Waterloo, where she was raised as a child and subsequently lived for many years. As her own children grew and left home she cared for the sick and elderly as a nurse's aid and home health aide. Jean appreciated those who cared for her the last several years. She was a member of Finger Lakes Community Church. She is survived by sons, Richard Long of Waterloo, Steven (Helen) Long of Romulus, David Long of Palm Bay, FL, and Donald (Robin) Long of West Harrison, IN; daughters, Nancy (Jeff) Hartman of White Pine, MI and Kathy (Ed) Holley of Ballston Lake; 23 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren, and two great- great grandsons; brother, Ray (Vaughn) Davis of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Alice Davis of Geneva; many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband, George A. Long; sons, Michael G. Long and James T. Long; brothers, Donald Davis and Everett Dingy.
