Waterloo - Gladys I. White, 94, formerly of 80 Washington St., died Sunday (July 27, 2014) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. In keeping with Gladys' wishes there will be no calling hours. The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 2) at Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. Rev. Laura Calos, pastor of Waterloo United Methodist Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Waterloo United Methodist Church, 21 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY, 13165. Gladys was born March 31, 1920 in Geneva, the daughter of LeRoy and Ola Stratton Schell. She was a Waterloo High School graduate. She retired from Newark Developmental Center, after many years of employment. Gladys was the oldest living member of Waterloo United Methodist Church, joining the church in June of 1932. She was a very active member of the church, until recent years. Gladys was also an active member of the Waterloo School District PTA, while her children were attending school. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Michael) D'Augustine of The Villages, FL; son, Clifford (Gloria) White of Hardy, VA; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Shelley) White, Wendi (Tony) Forestiere, Jamie (Suny) Shin, and Jody D'Augustine; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by husband, Lyle W. White; three brothers, George, Edward, and Clifford. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
