Waterloo - Richard F. Olschewske, 90, formerly of 1772 North Rd., died Sunday (June 22, 2014) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday (June 26) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday (June 27) at funeral home. Rev. Leah Ntuala, pastor of Seneca Falls Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Waterloo Sportsman Club or Seneca Falls Elks. Dick was born March 31, 1924 in Waterloo, the son of August and Cynthia Bird Olschewske. He was employed at the Seneca Falls Machine Shop, retiring after 37 years. Dick was a life member of Seneca Falls Elks. He was a member of the Serven Fire Department and Waterloo Sportsman Club. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Alberta; daughter, Frances (George) VanTine of Chelsea, MI; granddaughter, Cheryl Taber of Seneca Falls; grandson, Kirk (Aimee) VanTine of Dexter, MI; great-grandchildren Brandon Taber, Emma VanTine, and Lindsey VanTine; sisters, Doris Swartz and Iva (Carl) McNaney both of Seneca Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was predeceased by brothers, Carl, Howard, Wilford, Morris, and Jessie; and sister, Elsie Stahl. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
