Newark, OH - David K.Sheradin, 67, of Newark, OH, and formerly of Seneca Co., died Monday (May 5, 2014) at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday (May 13) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (May 14) at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by members of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V.F.W. and Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion in the cemetery. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Seneca Co. EDC, Attn.: Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1 DiPronio Dr., Waterloo, NY, 13165.
David was born March 10, 1947 in Waterloo, the son of James C. and Edith M. Post Sheradin. He was a 1965 graduate of Romulus High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. David was employed at the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, until he was transferred to the Department of Finance and Accounting Services in Columbus, OH. He retired from that department in May of 2012. David enjoyed camping, kayaking, hiking, and tinkering in his barn. In the past, he was known in Waterloo for his chicken barbecues that took place in Lafayette Park.
He is survived by his loving wife, Candice E. Becker Sheradin; daughter, Tami (Kevin) Burchett of Aurora, CO; son, Neil (Jeri) Sheradin of Newark, OH; granddaughters Brooke and McKenzie Burchett, Abigail and Alyssa Smith, and Elizabeth Sheradin; brothers, Gale (Sandra) Sheradin of Walton and Lewis (Katherine) Sheradin of Dundee; sisters, Louise Larsen of Seminole, FL and Sandra Schempp of Athens, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Sheradin of Rochester; aunt, Donna Sheradin of Geneva; uncles, Donald Sheradin of Rochester and Jack Whitbeck of Arizona; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, William Sheradin.
