Waterloo - Wallace L. TenEyck, Sr., 85, of 1849 County House Rd., died Thursday (April 10, 2014) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo with his family by his side.
Friends may call 5 p.m to 7 p.m. Tuesday (April 15) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday (April 15) at the funeral home. Rev. Thomas Easttey, pastor of the Waterloo United Methodist Church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beverly's Animal Shelter, 50 E. River St., Waterloo, NY, 13165; 2nd Chance Dog Rescue, 804 Stone Church Rd., Waterloo, 13165; or American Lung Association, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, 12210.
Wallace was born June 19, 1928 in Macomb, the son of Clarence and Ella Mae Stowell Teneyck. He was a U. S. Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1957. Returning from the service he worked as a farmer on the family farm and also a bus driver. Later he retired from employment as head of the maintenance department for the Waterloo Central School District. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Wally was also an avid NASCAR enthusiast.
He is survived by wife, Barbara TenEyck; son, Wallace L. TenEyck, Jr. of Seneca Falls; daughters, Kristina R. TenEyck and Carrie L. TenEyck both of Waterloo; grandchildren, Brandon Ferris, Brittany TenEyck, Bryce TenEyck, Jordan Love, Kenneth Mattoon, Bryanna TenEyck, Christian Mattoon, and Kaitlin Mattoon; great-grandson, Declan TenEyck; sisters, Erdine Spencer of Waterloo, Maralene Healy of Rochester, Eileen (Irving) Buchholz of Waterloo, and Joan (William) Savage of Aurora, CO; and many nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Shay Dyson of Auburn; and lifelong friend, Thomas Hearn of Waterloo.
He was predeceased by his son, Bradley T. TenEyck; brothers, Robert, Donald, Earl, and Erwin TenEyck; sisters, Katherine Hayes and Gwendolyn Peek.
