Romulus - Barbara Anna Heitmann, 81, of 1756 Kuney Rd., died Friday (February 7, 2014) at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva. The memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 15) at Zion Lutheran Church. Vicar Josiah Armstrong, will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 18 Snell Road, Geneva, 14456. Barbara was born May 24, 1932 in Waterloo, the daugher of Harold and Barbara Copeland Poffenberger. She graduated in 1951 from Waterloo High School. Barb was a telephone operator for New York Telephone in Geneva, for a few years. She was then employed with Sylvania in Seneca Falls for a couple of years. She was a longtime and active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Geneva. She was also a member of the Altar Guild. She is survived by her husband, 60 years, William Heitmann; sons, Kim (Karen) Heitmann of Penn Yan and Craig (Tammy Bachman) Heitmann of Savannah; daughers, Tracey (Frederick) Beary and Lisa (Glenn Hudson) Heitmann both of Romulus; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Lewis (Diane) Poffenberger of Waterloo; sister-in-law, Frances Heitmann of Saratoga; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Raymond Poffenberger and Carlton Lynd; and sister, Louise Welch. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
