Obituary of Debra Lynn Lockett

WATERLOO – Debra L. Lockett, 56, of Waterloo, NY, passed away Sunday (October 1, 2023) at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic, Clifton Springs, NY, with her loving family by her side. After battling cancer twice, she fought against the disease with tremendous courage, grace and quiet strength. In keeping with the Debra's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylor- Brown Auxiliary, 369 E. Main St, Waterloo, NY, 13165 and Lipton Cancer Institute, 2 Coulter Rd. Ste. 2615, Clifton Springs, NY, 14432. Deb was born November 24, 1966, the daughter of John Raymond and Patricia Elaine Hawkins DeWall. She was a 1985 graduate of Waterloo Central High School and completed some college education. Deb was employed with Finger Lakes Healthcare System for 33 years, many of those years at Huntington Living Center, as an Activities Director and Associate Administrator. She also assisted and supported the Taylor-Brown Auxiliary. Deb enjoyed going out with her closest friends of the "Ladies Night Out" group, Sharon Galasso, Kathy Tubbs and Jane Lux. She is survived by her loving husband David C. of 35 years; sisters Sherrie (Rob) Harding of Danielsville, GA and Jackie (Joe) McCann of Waterloo, NY; mother-in-law Marjorie Marsh of Geneva, NY; father-in-law Lowell Lockett of Canton, GA; sisters-in-law Linda (Ron Greschler) Wells of Odessa, NY and Diane (Kurt Minges) Teeter of Romulus, NY; brother-in-law Michael (Kellie) Lockett of Canton, GA; an aunt, 2 uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her two beloved boys, cats Sammy and Mason.
