WATERLOO/FAYETTE – Seward Dadson, 97, passed away January 5, 2018 in U of R Hospice at Geneva General Hospital, with family by his side. Calling hours and memorial service will be announced in the Spring. Seward was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Geneva, N.Y., the son of Ellis and Myrta Bachman Dadson. He was a 1938 graduate of Waterloo High School, where he received high marksman in the Rifle Club and a letter in soccer. During W. W. II, he served in the Merchant Marines. He married his lifelong love, Thelma in 1944 and were married for 73 years. Seward and Thelma purchased a farm on Disinger Road in 1946 where he was a dairy and crop farmer. He won numerous awards for top producing herd. Seward was a trustee on the Waterloo Board of Education. He also served as president for the Seneca County Holstein Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Seward will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Swanson Dadson; daughters Irene (Michael Brawley) Dadson of Walworth and Donna (Roger Harnish) Dadson of Rochester; and sister-in-law, Jessie E. Payne Dadson of Waterloo. Seward was predeceased by brothers Robert E. (Alma) Dadson, Norman E. (Doris) Dadson, and Paul K. Dadson; and sister, Beatrice Dadson (Tom) Campbell.
