Obituary of Avery Moak Brigham

WATERLOO– Avery M. Brigham, 92, of Caroline Rd., passed Tuesday (November 22, 2016), surrounded by family at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (November 27) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo with the memorial service immediately following at 3 pm. The Rev. Gary Edmister, pastor from Bradford, N.Y. will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005. Avery was born August 26, 1924 in Castle Creek, N.Y. the son of Charles W. and Hannah E. Padbury Brigham. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corps in 1943-1945, and also in the Reserves. He was a former member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a self-employed truck driver, horseman and farrier. Avery enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by sons Rex Brigham and Ernie (Karen) Brigham, both of Waterloo; daughter, Colleen (Art) Dillon of Dundee; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by wife, Lera; daughters Catherine Bailey, Carol Green and Judy Brigham; sister, Laura Turner; brothers Charles and Thomas Brigham.
