Obituary of Laverne Alvin Peters

Waterloo – Laverne "Vern" A. Peters, 76, of 223 W. Main St., died Friday (July 29, 2016) at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 4) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Rev. Ellen Donnan, pastor of Junius Presbyterian Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA, 02241-7005. Laverne was born July 26, 1940, in Williamson, the son of Francis and Esther Everdyke Peters. He was a graduate of Marion High School. For many years he worked as a tool and dye maker for various companies, the last being Rogers Associates in Rochester. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna L. Calhoun Peters; sister, Lorraine (Eugene) Weimer of Newark; brothers, Edward (Patricia) Peters of Newark and Alvin; sister-in-law, Dawn Jones of Waterloo; many nieces and nephews.
