WATERLOO/GENEVA – Leslie Jay Aunkst, 86, of Geneva, NY, formerly of Waterloo, NY, passed away Monday (January 26, 2026) at his home with his loving family by his side.
Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (February 7) at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home. Pastor Jim VanHooft, from the Waterloo United Methodist Church, will officiate. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

Les was born October 17, 1939, in Waterloo, NY, the son of Francis and Marjorie Scott Aunkst. He was a 1958 graduate of Waterloo High School. Les served in the Army National Guard. He was employed for many years with the American Can in Geneva. Les then went on to be a Mill Manager for Seedway in Hall, NY, until his retirement.
He is survived by his loving wife Judith A. Courtney Aunkst; children Amy (Thomas) Park of Waterloo, NY and Tim (Tammy) Aunskt of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren Tiffany (Carlos) Patino, Tia Zulu, Adi and Bergen Aunkst – Park; great-grandchildren CJ, Evan, Lucas, Liana, Tessa, and Emery Jay.
Les was predeceased by his parents and brother Ralph Aunkst.
