Kamryn was born December 29, 2009 in Lompoc, CA, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Julie A. Kelley Thissell. She was a Junior at Waterloo High School and a passionate volleyball player. She had just been accepted to the FLX Waves 17u Volleyball League and the Waterloo HS Varsity volleyball team. Kamryn held a special place in her heart for all animals, but most especially for her 7-year-old dog, Maisie. Her friendship circle was large, but Kamryn always made sure to spend quality time with all of those closest to her. You could always find her in the stands at school cheering on her classmates. She had planned to attend Keuka College to pursue a career in forensics.
Kamryn had an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel and see new things and was always willing to try something a little crazy. She recently visited California with her brother and then enjoyed a cruise to Mexico where she went ziplining and swam with dolphins. She was fearless. Afterwards, she vacationed in Canada for a week with her best friend, Olivia.
Kamryn is survived by her loving parents and family; brother Jack Thissell; grandparents Jack E. and Mary E. Kelley (David), Ginger Thissell-Carter; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
“When a tree falls in the forest and nobody is around to hear, only the silence remains and an emptiness in the canopy that eventually will let the sunlight through so that others can grow past that moment.”
