Becky was born June 5, 1950 in Clifton Springs, NY, the daughter of Wayland L. and Lillian Z. Krager Daeffler. She was a 1968 graduate of Waterloo High School and started her impressive career at Wicke’s Lumber in Waterloo, working in the office and developing her administrative and financial skills. Her next experience was with Alaskan Oil Inc., where she would go on to work for over 30 years in the business office. Becky was a cornerstone of the company and made many lasting relationships. Later in her career, Becky worked at several other companies including Wadhams, Ontario County Landfill and retired from her beloved Seneca Cayuga ARC. She also worked at del Lago in her final years, where she put her love of talking to people to good use.
Becky was a fantastic cook and throughout the years, she and her daughter, Beth, were involved in several food service businesses, including catering, opening a coffee shop and owning a soup business and food truck. Becky’s favorite group to cook for was always for her family. Becky was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, sat on committees, held financial secretary office, and organized fundraisers. Becky was a creative artist and seamstress. She started sewing as a teenager and would go on to sew for her daughter, Beth, and many other of her loved ones: wedding dresses, dolls, costumes for her grandchildren and numerous requested alterations and special projects for her family and friends.
Becky made friends wherever she went. She was known for her beautiful blue eyes and big heart. Becky would embrace anyone who needed a hug, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, a meal, or help with a project. Becky was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.
Becky is survived by loving husband, Michael J.
