WATERLOO — Maxine Louise Norberg, 92, passed away peacefully Wednesday (June 11, 2025) at Wayne County Nursing Home, Lyons, NY.
In keeping with the family's wishes, the calling hours and service will be private. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

Maxine was born May 29, 1933 in Marion Center, PA, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Hamill Gore. She was a 1951 graduate of Emporium High School and became a licensed hairdresser in the states of NY and PA; she worked at Riss Beauty Salon in Emporium, PA for 5 years. Maxine was later employed with Parker-Hannifin in Lyons, NY for 7 years, and then in 1989 began employment in the Waterloo Central School District as a cafeteria staff member until her retirement.
Maxine is survived by son William E. (Carrie) Norberg, II of Marion, NY; daughters Ruth (Dale) Wagner of Waterloo, NY and Jill E. Norberg of Woodenville, WA; grandchildren Hannah (El) Thomsen, Chersti (Kevin) Kuhlmann and James (Naiyah) Norberg; great-grandchildren Finnley Kuhlmann, Jack Kuhlmann, McKenna Kuhlmann, and Kanon Kuhlmann; brother Jerry (Janet) Gore; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Maxine was a wonderful mother and friend. She made many friends over the years and will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit and kindness to others.
She was predeceased by her parents; and loving husband William E. Norberg.
