SENECA FALLS — David Carl Harrington, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri with his family by his side. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, 46 W. Main St., Waterloo, NY. A celebration of David's life will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Canoga Volunteer Fire Department, Route 89, Seneca Falls. Born on May 26, 1966, in Watkins Glen, NY, David was the beloved son of the late Harold Hoover and Dorothy May Bryant Harrington. After graduating from Mynderse Academy in 1984, he spent decades working for Bob Hayssen at Hayssen Site Contractors, and the last twelve years as groundskeeper at the New York State Veterans Cemetery – Finger Lakes, formerly known as Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery. David also volunteered his time maintaining the Canoga Cemetery, always giving back to the community. An avid outdoorsman, David found joy and accomplishment in hunting, having a trophy in the NYS Big Buck Club. He also earned a proud place in the Seneca County Fair Demolition Derby Hall of Fame. More recently, he enjoyed restoring and building a collection of David Bradley Walk Behind Tractors. David is survived by his longtime companion, Lisa Hauf of Seneca Falls, NY; daughters Cassandra Harrington of Cooperstown, NY and Sarah (John Weber) Leah Harrington of Waterloo, NY; aunt Joyce Beardslee of Vero Beach, FL; his parents-in-law, Walter Jr. and Margie Hauf; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Harrington; and uncle George Beardslee. David will be remembered for his generosity, his easygoing spirit, and the quiet strength he brought to every life he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved.
