WATERLOO – Janet Isabelle Green, 98, passed away peacefully Friday (February 21, 2025) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo.

Family and friends may call 10 AM to 11 AM Tuesday (May 6) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. David Price, senior pastor of the Fellowship of Faith Church in Lock Berlin, will officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship of Faith, 1939 Stokes Road, Lyons, NY, 14489.

Janet was born June 2, 1926 in Lyons, NY, the daughter of Albert E. and Isabelle A. Oswald Garrett. She was a 1944 graduate of Clyde High School. Janet worked one year in the office at the Seneca Knitting Mill, then she became the bookkeeper for the farms she and her husband owned and operated. She was an environmental advocate and participated in the Concerned Citizens of Seneca County. Janet helped to remodel the family 100-year-old homestead. She enjoyed refinishing furniture after taking a Refinishing Furniture Class at the Waterloo Central High School. Janet was a longtime and active member of the Lock Berlin United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school at the church for many years.

She is survived by her son Stephan (Judy) Green of Waterloo, NY; daughter Lisa (Eddie Scalzo) Thillman of Seneca Falls, NY; grandchildren Michael (Erin) Green, Melissa Whitelaw, Jason (Cassidy) Green, Jamie Green, Larissa (James) Milella and Trevor (Sarah) Thillman; great-grandchildren Morgan Tyler Green, Brian Whitelaw, Stephan Whitelaw, Bradley Green, Charlie Green, and Tyler Jason Green; and many nieces and nephews.

Janet was predeceased by her husband Clifford; son-in-law Mark Thillman; brother Robert Garrett; and sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Frank "Jr." Wagner.
