WATERLOO – Ruth S. Koopman, 88, passed away Saturday (November 5, 2022) at Huntington Living Center, Waterloo, NY.

In keeping with Ruth's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA, 02241-7005 or American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY, 14620.

Ruth was born June 2, 1934, in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of Jason S. and Mary E. Troutman House. She attended Waterloo High School. Ruth was employed with the Seneca Knitting Mill in Seneca Falls, NY for about 10 years and then the Waterloo Central School District as a cafeteria employee for almost 10 years. Ruth was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waterloo. She was the past president of Waterloo Little League Mother's. Ruth was a life member of Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V. F.W. Auxiliary.

She is survived by sons Charles F. Koopman of Seneca Falls, NY and James "Jay" J. (Joanne) Koopman of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren Jarod (Carly) Koopman, Jessica (Michael) Passalacqua, Jillian (AJ) Trahms, Sonora Koopman, Maranda Koopman, Deena Koopman, Matthew (Sarah) Koopman, and Nicholas (Alexandra Huckle) Koopman; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother William House of Charleston, SC; sister Barbara (Gordon) Trickler of Waterloo, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, James J. Koopman; brothers Jack and Donald House; and sister and brother-in-law Betty (Konrad) Mertens.
