Seneca Falls/Waterloo – James C. Uerkvitz, 72, of 142 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Sunday (April 15, 2018) at Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, NY. Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m Saturday (April 21) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, 344 W. Genesee St., Ste. 100, Syracuse, NY, 13202-0100. Jim was born July 23, 1945, in Waterloo, NY, the son of Carl P. and Janet Huff Uerkvitz. He was a 1964 graduate of Waterloo High School. Jim drove taxi for many years, for Milt and Jean Avery. He was best known for being an automobile mechanic at Bob Stenzel Chevrolet Buick Dealership, Bill Cram, Inc. and later for LeBrun Motor. He is survived by his sons, James C. Uerkvitz, II of Seneca Falls, NY and Richard (Kerry) Uerkvitz of Suwanee, GA; grandchildren, Jesse, Cameron, Christian, and Garrett Uerkvitz; siblings, Linda Darling of Waterloo, NY, Alan Uerkvitz of Cameron, WV, and Robert (Linda Sue) Uerkvitz of Rochester, NY; sister-in-law, Betty Uerkvitz of Waterloo, NY; many nieces and nephews.
