Obituary of Mary Jane Meeks

Geneva – Mary Jane Meeks, 89, 150 Lyceum St., Apt. 305, died Friday (February 23, 2018) at Living Center North at Geneva. There will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday (March 3) at Junius Presbyterian Church, 621 Whiskey Hill Rd., Junius, NY. Rev. Ellen Donnan, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Oaks Corners, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Junius Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 476, Waterloo, NY, 13165. Mary Jane was born April 12, 1928, in Canandaigua, NY, the daughter of Claude and Cora Aude Ketcham. She was a 1945 graduate of Gorham High School. After attending Fredonia College for one year, she began employment at Seneca Army Depot. She worked at the Army Depot for a couple of years, then she went to work for Sampson Naval Base. Eventually Mary Jane moved to Las Vegas, to work at Nellis Air Force Base. Returning to the Finger Lakes area she was employed at the VA Medical Center in Canandaigua, until her retirement. She then worked at the Salvation Army Store in Geneva. At various times in her life she was employed with various law firms. She also was employed for a while with the Finger Lakes Times and the Democrat and Chronicle. Mary Jane was a member of Junius Presbyterian Church and was the organist of the church for many years. She is survived by her children, Bruce (Carol) Iddings of Waterloo, Gary (Vickie) Iddings of Titusville, FL, Tom Iddings, David Iddings, John (Lorraine Klue) Peters, Debra Iddings all of Geneva, NY, and Patti (John) Geiselman of York, PA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
