Waterloo – A. Gail DeLair, 72, formerly of 305 E. Elisha St., died Saturday (February 17, 2018) at Geneva General Hospital. Friends may call 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 24) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, NY. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 25) at the funeral home. Ben Gutierrez, First Counselor for the Church of Latter Day Saints Fayette Ward. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Onseyawa, P. O. Box 614, Geneva, NY, 14456 or Spinal Bifida Association of Northeastern New York, 123 Saratoga Rd., Scotia, NY, 12302. Gail was born April 1, 1945, in New Bern, NC, the daughter of Walter C. and Bertha M. Griffin Rietmann. She was a 1964 graduate of Geneva High School. Gail then earned an AA degree in Clerical Work at Johnstown Rehab Center and School, Johnstown, PA. From 1970 to 1976, she worked side by side with her first husband, Michael J. Hagen, II, as a tax preparer. After Michael died, Gail continued to own and operate the business until 1991. She then owned and operated Christian Harbor II Bookstore from 1991 to 1996. Then she worked for a couple of years for H & R Block. Her last place of employment was at Wal-mart in Seneca Falls, NY. Gail was a Poster Child for Camp Onseyawa and worked at the camp for 20 years. She also chaired the golf tournament for Camp Onseyawa, for three years. Gail was a former member of the Waterloo Rotary Club. She was a former member of Waterloo United Methodist Church and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Fayette Ward. Gail was a member of the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Waterloo Memorial Post 6433, V. F. W. Auxiliary and Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Blye, Jr. "B.J." (Kimberly) DeLair of Waterloo, NY; daughter, Paula DeLair of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Kailynn Doyle, Avalynn Doyle, Joseph DeLair, Jaden DeLair Carter Cooper, Miranda Boughten and Selina Martinez; sisters, E. Dail Rietmann of Clifton Springs, NY, Sue Erica Cocca of Rochester, NY, Barbara (Raven) Lee Soukup of Geneva, OH, and Deborah Wright of Brewster, OH; and many nieces and nephews. Gail was predeceased by her first husband, Michael J. Hagen, II and second husband, Blye DeLair, Sr. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
