Waterloo- Ralph S. King, 90, died Tuesday (March 21, 2017) in Living Center South at Geneva, with his loving family by his side. Friends may call 4 to 7p.m. Friday (Mar. 24, 2017) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Center at Geneva South 1, 45 Mason St., Geneva, N.Y. 14456 or to the organization of one's choice. Ralph was born March 6, 1927, in Seneca Falls, the son of Stuart W. and Kathleen A. Wardell King. Ralph was a graduate of Waterloo High School. He served his country in the Navy from 1945-1946. He received his Bachelors Degree from Springfield, MA and his Master's Degree from Syracuse University. He began his career as a Science Teacher in the Victor School District. Later, he was employed at Waterloo High School for 39 ½ years as Guidance Counselor, the majority of those years as Chair of the Guidance Department.. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a former member of the Lyons Club. He enjoyed golfing and spending time at his cottage in the Adirondack's with his family. He is survived by his wife Barbara Powers King; son, Leslie (Kathleen) King; daughters, Barbara (Jeffry) Kapps and Tracy (Dale) Sheppard: stepchildren, Robert (Mary) Powers, William Powers and Patricia (Leland) Earp; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Rita Sabatine King; brothers, Leslie King and Sid King; sister, Alice Gray. Condolences for the family may be sent to www.coegenungfuneralhome.com.
