Fayette/Waterloo – Herman W. Sigrist, 85, of 3394 Miller Rd., died Wednesday (December 7, 2016) in Seneca Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 11) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home. The Rev. M. Edward Lincoln, retired United Methodist minister, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tyre United Methodist Church, c/o Norma Cayward, 7508 Youngs Rd., Auburn, NY 13021 Herm was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Fayette, the son of Paul and Dora Rule Sigrist. He was a 1949 graduate of Waterloo High School. Herm was a dairy farmer for many years, owning and operating Seneca Ayr Farm in Fayette. He also worked part time for Sylvania in Seneca Falls and Farmco Farm Supply also in Seneca Falls. He was a longtime member of Tyre United Methodist Church. He is survived by sons, Leslie E. Sigrist and William (Katherine) Sigrist both of Waterloo; daughter, Ellen M. Sigrist of Missoula, MO; grandchildren, Michael P. Sigrist of Waterloo, Erin (Neal Goswami) Sigrist of Montpelier, VT, and Audra (John Porter) of Sigrist of Waterloo. He was predeceased by his wife, Hope A. Brand Sigrist.
