Obituary of Judith Houtenbrink

Waterloo – Judith "Judy" Houtenbrink, 81, of 0998R Waterloo-Geneva Rd., died Monday (Sept. 19, 2016) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, with her loving family by her side. Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 22) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Laura Calos, pastor of Waterloo United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Varick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waterloo United Methodist Church, 21 E. Williams St., Waterloo, NY, 13165. Judy was born April 5, 1935, in Syracuse, the daughter of Arthur and Mabelle Davies Archambo. She was employed at Hobart & William Smith Colleges for many years in the post office. Judy was a very active and longtime member of Waterloo United Methodist Church. She was also a very active and longtime member of Warner VanRiper Post 435, American Legion Auxiliary. She was a past president of the auxiliary. One of her favorite pastimes was bowling and was active in bowling leagues. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frederic "Fritz" N. Houtenbrink; sons, John (Brenda) Houtenbrink of Victor and James (Wendy) Houtenbrink of Waterloo; daughter, Nancy (Paul) Iannopollo of Waterloo; grandchildren, Jason, Megan, Lauren, Chelsea, and Ashley Houtenbrink; sisters, Nanette (Robert) Jarvis of Phoenix, NY and Audrey (James) Simmonds of Thousand Island Park; several nieces and nephews.
