Obituary of June Rey

Seneca Falls - June Dolores Rey, 80, loving mother and grandmother, died Thursday (December 20, 2012) at Geneva General Hospital after a long illness with her family by her side. In keeping with June's wishes there will be no calling hours. The Mass of Christian burial will be 9:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 24) at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Seneca Falls. Rev. James Fennessy, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Waterloo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lodge, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, 14620-2532. June was born August 9, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of William and Julia Tino Lonsdale. She began working at Margaret Hay Hospital in Jersey City, N.J. She moved to the Finger Lakes area in 1971. She was then employed with Seneca Nursing Home and as a housekeeper for Dr. Li and his family. She loved going to the casino and playing cards. She was known for her caring and generous nature. She is survived by three sons David (Sue) Rey of Geneva, Paul Rey of Noble, OK, James Rey of Elmira, six daughters: Roseann (Louie) Colella of Carlstadt, NJ, Theresa Rey of Waterloo, Linda Carp and Judy Czorniewy both of Walnutport, PA, Lillie (Robbie) Schaff of Cantonment, FL and Tammy (Colin) Cady of Soddy Daisy, TN; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Rey in 1993, one son: Lloyd Rey, one daughter: Barbara Grabbatin, two sisters: Lillian Graber and Geraldine Murphy.
