Waterloo - Mary Ellen Martens, 92, formerly of Stanley, went home to be with the Lord Monday (November 5, 2012) at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. Friends may call 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 10) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo. The funeral service will be 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Paul Douglass, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 3142 Johnson Rd., Geneva, 14456. Mary Ellen was born Aug. 3, 1920 in Dresden, the daughter of Harry A. and Emma J. Jolley Mills. She was a Syracuse University graduate having taught math until her marriage to her husband, Peter. After their marriage she was a wife and mother of three children. She was a longtime member and treasurer of Grace Baptist Church in Geneva. She is survived by son: Peter D. (Margaret) Martens of Baldwinsville; daughters: Margot (David) Woodall of Zion, Ill. and Emily (John) Tessier of Sellersville, Penn; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter W. Martens, who went home to be with the Lord, March 20, 2012.
